where to start

Life is a mixed bag. Sometimes we're getting raises + having babies, while other times we're getting laid off + holding negative pregnancy tests. Naturally, we tend to skim over our failures + imperfections. We want only our successes + highlights to see the light of day.

But as I've gotten older, I've come to realize that all of life is beautiful + purposeful whether it's a "high," "low," or somewhere in between. The sleepless nights, tight budgets + seasons of change result in lessons learned, personal growth + unforgettable memories. When we embrace the icky parts along with the really good parts, life becomes even more meaningful. So here's to rocking our third day hair, laundry piles + less than perfect photos.

And in the end, I think I’ve learned the final lesson from my travels in time; and I’ve even gone one step further than my father did. The truth is I now don’t travel back at all, not even for the day. I just try to live every day as if I’ve deliberately come back to this one day, to enjoy it, as if it was the full final day of

my extraordinary, ordinary life.

hey friend!

I’m Cheryl. Come on in! Pull up a chair + I'll pour you some fresh coffee. It's so good to have friends to share a cuppa with, don't you agree? Here's some Peppermint Mocha Creamer, it's my favorite.

A little about me? Well, my thirties are quickly approaching, by far my favorite titles are wife + mama, I live in the Mid-West, I'm proud to say that I can quote about 98% of Friends, I'm always thinking of how I can get creative or, of course, my neverending to-do list, and...well, I have the hardest time saying no to a new coffee mug. Which explains the collection on the shelf over there. But hey, I'm an open book on all things life, wife + mama...

The Day Jack Wyatt was Born: Pt. 2

If you missed part one, click here. What did you do to get through contractions? For the first few hours, contractions were not difficult. I mean, they didn’t feel like kitten kisses but it was definitely tolerable. They were maintaining 3-5 minutes apart and only lasted for about 30 seconds so I could plan on its consistency and mentally brace myself to breathe through it. We had time so Andrew set up my diffuser, applied some of the oils I had prepped, we landed a birthing ball and I ... READ the POST

The Day Jack Wyatt was Born: Pt. I

*Quick Note* I’m so excited to share this story with you! So many of you have followed along with us through our PCOS/infertility journey and this story is the culmination of lots of prayers, tears, hopes, one positive test & 41 weeks of pregnancy. This is our sweet dream come true. With that said, I feel like babies + birth plans can bring out the opinionated in us, so before I get started I want to say…the point in sharing our birth story is to build a bridge to fellow Mama’s, to be ... Pregnancy sucks.

Pregnancy sucks. One thing that I have learned for certain in this pregnancy, is that 99% of it…just sucks. I never thought pregnancy was easy but I was naïve to think that it wouldn’t feel like the major sacrifice that it has been. I always thought when the baby was born…that’s when the real work begins. And to a point, that’s true. It’s a whole other ball game having your baby on the outside. But I’m here to say that sacrifice as a mother begins in the uterus—completely transforming your ...
